Different Faiths and Beliefs have similar Peace Messages

Treat others as you would like them to treat you.

I will act towards others exactly as I would act towards myself.

As you wish for yourself, so wish for others.

None of you truly believe until you wish for your brother and sisters what you wish for yourself.

What is harmful to you, do not do to other people.

Blessed is the person who loves his/her brother and sister more than him/herself.

Hare Krsna

Live in loving harmony with all of God's creation.

Do not do to another what is not good for yourself.

Tribal and Native people

Man did not weave the web of life - he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.

All living beings are equal and none should be harmed for in doing so one will harm oneself.

Earth Religions

Harm none.

Act with compassion, moderation and humility

Do nothing to others which, if done to you, could cause you pain.

Yungdrung Bon

A huge diolch to all the children

who have already written their Peace Prayers.

You can read them on the 'Share a Prayer' page.

Read the quotation below.

Can you find it in the New Testament in the Bible?

‘Peace I leave with you;

my peace I give you.

I do not give to you as the world gives.

Do not let your hearts be troubled

and do not be afraid.’

John 14.27

Peace is:

   Pardoning others

   Everyone living in harmony

   Always showing love

   Calming situations

   Ending all hatred

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;

where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

 (attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi)

Read the quotation below.

Can you find it in the New Testament in the Bible?

'Just as the Lord has forgiven you,

so you must also forgive others.’

Colossians 3.13

A big thank you to all the children who have already sent in a

Forgiveness Prayer.

They are very thoughtful and are displayed on our website page

‘Share a Prayer’.

      Forgiveness is:

    Forgetting the hurts

    Offering a new beginning

    Restoring a friendship

    Given and received

    Identifying responsibility

    Valuing the truth

    Ending an argument

    Not holding a grudge

    Encouraging honesty

    Saying sorry

    Starting again

Dear Lord,

Thank you for offering forgiveness to all, through Jesus.

Sorry for the times we have been slow to say sorry to others

or not quick enough to forgive.

Please help us to ask for forgiveness when we make a mistake

and to accept an apology kindly.

Can you write or say a prayer about forgiveness?

I hope you enjoy listening to the beautiful song 'Gethsemane'

as we approach Good Friday tomorrow

and 'We Believe', an Easter song with sign language.

Enjoy singing along to these Palm Sunday songs.
