DOUBLING AND HALVING

Doubling is making 2 groups with the same number of objects.

8 cars    +    8 cars      = 16 cars

You can also multiply by 2 to help you double numbers.

8 x 2 = 16

**********

Halving is about sharing objects into 2 groups with the same amount.

16 cars      =    8 cars    +    8 cars

You can also divide by 2 to help you halve numbers.

16 ÷ 2 = 8

Why not set up a tuck shop!

Give your child £1 ( or whatever amount you want) a day to spend. They have to come and choose their snack and pay for it. This will give them chance to use real life money skills at home.

You can cater the activity to the age of your child.
