Digital Challenge - Refugee Activities 

 

Watch the PowerPoint presentation or PDF about Refugee's. 

 

Then picked one of the three activities below:

 

Activity 1 

“Save the Children believes every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, we give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. We do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and the future we share.”

 

Challenge - Design a Welcome Poster. You can create the poster using an tool in HWB or you can draw it on paper and send me a picture of it. 

 

Imagine that you are welcoming a refugee from Syria. They don’t speak English and have just arrived at your school. Your task is to create a poster to welcome them to your school. Think about some of the things that might make a child feel welcome in a new country.

 

 

Activity 2

Challenge - Design a Help Sheet. Use the template ' Help sheet' or you can create your own. 

 

Imagine that you are welcoming a refugee from Syria. They don’t speak English and have just arrived at your school. Your task is to create a handy help sheet so that your new friend can begin to understand what things are.

Draw objects and items from the classroom and around school with the English and Syrian words labelling them. Search the Internet for an English - Arabic online dictionary to help you.

 

Activity 3
