Pupils from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 recently went on an exciting educational trip to Oriel Science in Swansea, where they learnt about the wonders of the universe through engaging, hands-on activities. The visit offered a unique opportunity to explore scientific concepts in a fun and interactive environment.
For families interested in exploring science further, Oriel Science offers free entry and hosts various interactive exhibits and workshops. It's an excellent destination for a half-term outing that combines fun with learning. For more information, visit the Oriel Science website: https://www.orielscience.co.uk

Children in Year 3 and 4 have been enthusiastically learning about how to care for the environment. They have designed persuasive posters aimed at encouraging others to take action in protecting our planet.
In addition, the children have been working collaboratively to create a stunning entry for Plantasia in Bloom 2025. Using a variety of recycled materials, they have crafted imaginative and eco-friendly designs that showcase both their creativity and their commitment to sustainability. This project has helped the children understand the importance of reusing materials and how small actions can make a big difference to the environment.
The children have been learning about the Wright brothers and how they designed and flew the first powered airplane in 1903. To explore the principles of flight, the children then made and tested different types of paper airplanes to see which design would fly the furthest. They experimented with three models: the Fantastic Flyer, the Simple and Speed, and the Skater.
Which one do you think flew the furthest?
